TikTok Shop Malaysia has announced that it now records over 100 million general product searches daily from local users. The milestone was shared at the TikTok Shop Summit, the platform’s largest annual industry engagement event. “As consumer confidence deepened, we have observed a growing trend of shoppers using TikTok Shop for both discovery and deliberate shopping,” said Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, TikTok Shop Malaysia’s Director of Strategic Partnerships.

The summit featured the introduction of several new tools and features designed to support merchant growth, including GMV Max, Affiliate Creatives for Ads (ACA), Opportunity Center, New Arrival Discount, Product Data Synchronisation, Affiliate Link, and the Star Creator badge. These tools are intended to enhance visibility, streamline operations, and increase conversions for sellers, particularly local MSMEs and homegrown brands.
TikTok Shop has also expanded its consumer offerings through 30-day free returns on TikTok Shop Mall, additional payment flexibility via TikTok PayLater, and pilot implementations of next-day delivery in Klang Valley, Johor, and Penang. Since the launch of TikTok PayLater, the platform has implemented personalized spending limits and affordability checks to ensure responsible shopping experiences.
The platform’s efforts have contributed to strong year-on-year growth in Malaysia’s e-commerce sector. Notable increases include over 140% YoY sales during the 6.6 Sale in June, over 100% during the Ramadan and Raya period, and more than 90% during the Chinese New Year campaign in January. Ahead of the year-end sales season, TikTok Shop will double its platform discount vouchers and support for TikTok Shop Mall brands, encouraging local businesses to take advantage of its full suite of seller resources.
Pokdepinion: TikTok’s popularity in Malaysia certainly doesn’t look like it’s slowing down at this moment.
