Moomoo Securities Malaysia (Moomoo MY) announced that it has surpassed two million downloads in Malaysia. To mark the milestone, the company has committed RM100,000 to the Nicol David Organisation (NDO) in support of youth education, sports development and investment literacy initiatives for students from underserved communities.
Moomoo Malaysia Reach 2 Million Downloads, Funds Youth Program

The commitment was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with NDO. The funds will support up to 500 students under NDO’s Smart Mooves program, which provides young people from lower-income communities with access to sports, investment intelligence and personal development support across 20 public secondary schools in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. As part of the initiative, Moomoo Malaysia will contribute RM10 to NDO for every RM1,000 deposited by a new user.
The partnership comes amid continued underrepresentation of young Malaysians in the investment landscape. Data from Bursa Malaysia shows that investors aged 18 to 35 account for only 20% of the country’s active retail investor base, while separate studies have pointed to persistent gaps in financial literacy among younger demographics.
The Smart Mooves program targets students above age 16 through a four-week curriculum combining physical activity with investment education, aiming to build money management and planning skills among participants at an early stage. Indy Lau, Chief Operating Officer of Moomoo Malaysia, described the NDO partnership as a way to give back to the community that supported the platform’s growth, whilst crediting the two-million-download achievement to Malaysians “taking a step toward building their financial future.”
The Nicol David Organisation was founded by eight-time world squash champion Datuk Nicol David and Mariana De Reyes – the non-profit foundation focuses on empowering women, girls and boys through sport, education, mental health and community development, running programs including Smart Mooves, Little Legends and Positive Play (+ Play).
Pokdepinion: Tying investment app downloads to school kids learning about money through squash is a peculiar combo, but honestly, if it gets 500 students from underserved communities thinking about their financial futures, the slightly oddball brand synergy is worth it.
