Malaysia Ready For 5G Says DNB

Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) has stated that Malaysia’s 5G network is going online this 15th of December 2021, which isn’t far away from now and will mark the commercial availability of the connectivity.

5G MalaysiaThey’ve revealed that coverage will be rolled out starting with Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, and parts of Kuala Lumpur in December 2021. Afterwards, 5G coverage will extend to 80% of populated areas by end 2024.

DNB will be offering wholesale 5G services at no cost at all MNOs that are integrated into the DNB network. This offer is valid for all 5G live sites that will be ready throughout the mentioned areas by 31st December 2021 and the offer lasts until the 31st of March 2022.

Those MNOs that enter the Wholesale Agreement before 31st March 2022 will receive further free access at all additional 5G capacity as sites go live in the period.

End users with 5G-capable devices will be able to enjoy speeds of 100Mbps and above. With 5G, the connection will be able to support use cases around the streaming and downloading of 8K quality video, cloud-based gaming, as well as AR/VR content.
