Amar Chhajer, Vice President and Country Head of UST Malaysia, has been conferred the Darjah Johan Negeri (D.J.N.) by Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Ramli bin Ngah Talib, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, at the State Investiture Ceremony held at Dewan Sri Pinang, George Town. This marks Chhajer’s second state recognition from Penang, following the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K.) conferred on him in 2020.

Chhajer is responsible for UST’s business and growth across Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, UST Malaysia has expanded its work in digital transformation, silicon engineering, product engineering, and AI transformation. He said the recognition reflects UST’s mission of transforming lives through technology, crediting the company’s Malaysia team for carrying out that mission for clients and communities. He added that Penang has been his home for many years and that the recognition from the state carries personal significance.
Beyond his role at UST, Chhajer serves as an Advisor to the Penang Silicon Design @5km initiative, supporting the state’s development as a regional semiconductor design centre. He has served as Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Global Business Services (GBS) Focus Group Penang and continues as an Advisor, working to engage potential investors in the state’s services sector. He is also a Committee Member of the GBS Council Malaysia and a TalentCorp TF50 Fellow, contributing to national talent development strategies.
UST Malaysia carries out community initiatives spanning education, health, and environmental programmes, including tree planting and community clean-ups, alongside support for vulnerable communities across the state. Chhajer also mentors women managers in the technology industry through structured leadership programmes.
