As part of the company’s push towards privacy and protecting user data, Apple is rejecting apps with specific 3rd party trackers and here’s why.

Apple Rejecting Apps With 3rd Party Trackers Due to Privacy Concerns

Apple has been making a healthy push for privacy and protecting user data, with App Store information labels clearly showing what sort of data is being collected by apps for added transparency. In their latest move, they are rejecting apps with specific 3rd party trackers for privacy concerns.

To be precise, it’s apps that are using Adjust SDK, which is a 3rd party tracker that tracks people’s actions on iPhones and users have no option to opt out from it. 3rd party trackers are still allowed but they must give users to option to opt out if they wish, otherwise Apple will continue to reject it on their App Store.

For those of you who aren’t aware, iOS 14.5 brought a new feature called App Tracking Transparency, which will require developers to comply with various privacy features for users on their apps. This included the new ban on apps with 3rd party trackers without the option to opt-out from it.

According to analyst Eric Seufert, Apple has no issues with Adjust SDK if they give users the necessary option. Otherwise, they recommend developers to make use of other available options that meet the necessary requirement.

While there are still apps that can potentially steal money from users along with other issues on the Apple App Store, this is still a step forward in the right direction. Hopefully more issues will be addressed in the near future.

Pokdepinion: It’s a good move by Apple for added transparency. People can get very paranoid about this kind of thing so this can give that added peace of mind.
