Instagram has quietly increased the limit for carousel posts, allowing users to now include up to 20 items in a single post. This change is a significant update from the previous 10-item limit, meaning your “photo dump” posts can now showcase even more images and videos in one go.
Instagram Expanded Carousel Limit: What’s New?

This feature has been in testing for several months, initially starting with a 15-item limit before expanding to 20. The update is now rolling out to most users. If you don’t see it yet, make sure to update your Instagram app to the latest version to take advantage of this new capability.

Instagram’s move to double its carousel limit seems to be in response to its key competitor, TikTok, which allows users to include up to 35 photos and/or videos in a single post. With this update, Instagram is stepping up its game, offering users more flexibility to share their content.
