Instagram's Threads Is Getting A Web Version Soon, Says Zuckerberg

We’re barely one month into Threads’ official launch since early July this year, and the Twitter (now X) competitor is getting updates here and there to get the platform up to speed as soon as possible. Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has confirmed that Search and Web version is “coming in the next few weeks”.

Currently, if you head to threads.net website you’ll be presented with a QR code to download the app in Android or iOS; and any posts accessed through the web will be read-only. That will change soon, which is one of the crucial feature changes that may see increased uptake of the platform as the active users has dipped significantly since launch.

In the same post, Zuckerberg has also mentioned that “community here in on the trajectory” and he intends to build a “vibrant long term app”. The social media giant’s CEO is seemingly confident with his chances of taking on Elon Musk’s now-rebranded ‘X’, which is still in the process of shedding away references of the blue bird amidst controversies.

Pokdepinion: Twitter (sorry, X) and Threads so far seems to have a slightly different type of userbase, time will tell if the two ends of the userbase may converge (and compete) at some point.
