WhatsApp now lets iOS users migrate chat history to Android devices

Aside from the new Samsung Galaxy foldables, there was another huge announcement during the Samsung Unpacked event. iOS users can migrate their WhatsApp chat history to Android devices seamlessly, something which was not possible in the past.

This feature will be available on the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 first, with it set to arrive on other Samsung devices running Android 10 or higher later. This uses the Samsung Smart Switch feature to seamlessly transfer your WhatsApp chats from your iPhone to your Android device.

You can only transfer from your Apple device to your Samsung device for now, with the ability to transfer from your old Android device to your new iOS device coming at a later date. It’s also unclear whether WhatsApp will support these seamless transfers on Android devices other than Samsung’s. Fingers crossed!
