WhatsApp Implements Secret Code To Further Secure Chat Lock Feature

Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced the chat lock feature which hides the chats of the user’s choice behind a biometric lock (such as fingerprints). Today, the developers are introducing an even more secure way to keep your chats away from prying eyes: by hiding them entirely from the chat.

That’s where Secret Code comes in. To reveal these hidden chats, one must type a special code in the search bar to reveal them. The secret code may consist of any alphanumeric characters, symbols, and even emojis if that’s more of your style. However, you can opt to not hide these chats – and to lock them, you can now simply tap and hold the chat to do so, without heading to the chat settings.

WhatsApp noted that this feature begins the feature rollout today, however they noted it’ll take months to complete, which is longer than the previous few feature updates.
