Windows 12 Is Reportedly Launching In June 2024
Taiwanese outlet Commercial Times alleges that Microsoft is aiming for June 2024 to launch its next Windows version, Windows 12. The rise of AI, and the introduction of AI PCs meant great market opportunities for Taiwan’s PC industry, consisting of many leading manufacturers including ASUS, Acer, MSI, ASRock, GIGABYTE, and more.
The outlet pointed out that 2024 will be “Year 1” of AI PCs according to those working in the industry, and Quanta (ODM manufacturer) chairman Barry Lam expects AI PCs to enter the market as Microsoft introduces the next version of Windows. Acer chairman and CEO Jason Chen says that demand for AI PCs won’t explode overnight, and it requires a steady but accelerating momentum to create demand for AI PCs.
Given that both AMD and Intel have begun to introduce AI-powered chips, it’s only a matter of time before Microsoft will finally complete the AI PC puzzle. Intel is set to introduce AI processing through the upcoming Meteor Lake CPUs, whereas AMD has already released two (albeit limited) models under the Ryzen 7040U (Phoenix) family with Ryzen AI support. AMD is also expected to introduce a refresh of these chips under the Ryzen 8000 lineup, which should finally introduce AI processing to the majority of the PC market.

Pokdepinion: Prepare to hear AI mentioned over and over again with PC launches next year – hopefully everyone doesn’t get too tired listening to ‘AI’ by the end of the year.
