Like the ChatGPT itself, the DALL-E model is also the upgraded one over standard versions.

Bing doesn’t stop at just generating ideas and texts – Microsoft has introduced a new feature for its Bing chatbot to generate images courtesy of the popular image generation AI, DALL-E. Simply by writing what you want and the AI will generate images based on the prompts.

As for now, you’ll have to set the chatbot as Creative mode to use this feature, with the feature set to roll out to Balanced and Precise mode at some point. “We will initially only include Image Creator in the creative mode of Bing chat and our intention is to make it available in balanced and precise mode over time,” per Yusuf Medhi, Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing.

Microsoft has clearly learnt its lessons from the broken chatbot debacle – and it’s already having safeguards in place to prevent any misuse. Should it detects the prompts as potentially harmful, the chatbot will block the generation and warn the user.

“We have ensured OpenAI’s safeguards, plus additional protections, have been incorporated into Image Creator,” says Mehdi. “For example, we have put controls in place that aim to limit the generation of harmful or unsafe images. When our system detects that a potentially harmful image could be generated by a prompt, it blocks the prompt and warns the user.”

Interested? Bing Preview users can get immediate access to the feature through web or using Microsoft Edge’s Bing sidebar, but if you don’t have access – fret not, just head to bing.com/create so you can skip the chatbot part and get started.

Pokdepinion: I remember not so long ago generating an image took more than a minute, it’s very quick these days.
