Google has introduced a new feature in Gmail under the “Manage subscriptions” label, where users can easily clean up their inboxes by offering a centralized view to manage and unsubscribe from email lists. Now, unsubscribing an email is as simple as a button click, no hassle.

In this new section, you can view active subscriptions sorted by frequency, and it also includes a summary of how many emails each sender has issued in recent weeks – you can even view all the emails received in this period by clicking on the sender’s name. Once you click the Unsubscribe button, a request will be sent to the sender to stop sending new emails, although Google notes that this process may take several days to complete.

Accessing the feature is easy: for desktop users, hover your mouse to the left sidebar, click ‘More’, and you should be able to see “Manage subscriptions” at the bottom of the list (right above the Labels section); as for smartphone users, the feature is accessible via the hamburger menu by selecting “Manage subscriptions” in the list.

The feature is now live for desktop Gmail users, and the rollout for smartphone versions will take place starting July 14 for Android, whereas iOS users will see this feature go live starting July 21. That said, expect the rollout to take some time, so you may not see it right away. Google also notes that this feature is only available to “select countries,” but there’s no specifics on this – though I can say Malaysia is likely on the list as I did see the feature appearing on my web client.

Pokdepinion: Great addition – about time they add it since I saw Outlook had this feature for some time now.
