Those who prefer using the web version of WhatsApp may soon get a new feature – WABetaInfo reported that the app’s web client (web.whatsapp.com) is currently rolling out the ability to post status updates to its beta users.

This is spotted on the WhatsApp Web beta version 2.2353.59 and is currently available to select beta users. It is expected that the feature will undergo a wider rollout process in the coming weeks. With this, users will not be required to use their phones to post status updates – something that other Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, are not capable of in their respective web clients.

As the screenshot above shows, you can post a status in either text format or with media elements, such as photos and videos. This achieves feature parity to the mobile app, so those who often have the web client sitting in the background of their work laptop should find this pretty convenient.

It’s worth mentioning again that this is still a beta feature as of this writing, so you’ll have to wait for a bit before the feature is cleared for global rollout.

Pokdepinion: Not sure if anyone would post status through web client – but now you can.
