The MG ZS has officially launched in Malaysia as a locally assembled compact SUV, offered in two powertrain configurations: the MG ZS 1.5 Turbo and the MG ZS Hybrid+, priced at RM103,900 and RM109,900 respectively for Peninsula Malaysia (excluding insurance).
Customers who book either variant will receive early-bird rewards worth RM3,000 and five years of free maintenance. From now until 31 December 2026, buyers of the MG ZS 1.5 Turbo can access a special financing package with Hong Leong Bank and Bank Rakyat, while MG ZS Hybrid+ purchasers receive an additional RM3,000 year-end reward on top of the early-bird benefits.
MG ZS Feature Highlights
The MG ZS carries a distinctive exterior with Connected Hunter Eyes headlights, black grille accents, aerodynamic body sculpting, rear LED taillights, a rear spoiler and 18-inch alloy wheels. Both variants are available in four colors: Flare Red, Silver, Andes Grey and York White. The SUV measures 4,430mm in length and 1,818mm in width.
Inside, the all-black cabin features perforated leatherette seats with ventilation for both front seats. The cockpit includes a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch floating infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The cabin also provides 30 storage compartments, generous headroom and legroom, and an ergonomic layout designed for urban driving. Boot space stands at 443 liters, expandable to 1,457 liters with the rear seats folded.
On the safety side, the MG ZS holds a five-star ANCAP rating and comes equipped with MG PILOT Driver Safety Technology, covering 16 driver assistance functions including Intelligent Headlight Control and Intelligent Cruise Control. The MG iSMART system allows remote access to selected vehicle functions via smartphone, including keyless entry.
For powertrain, the Turbo variant is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine with an all-aluminum construction, producing 170PS (125kW) and 275Nm of torque. It is paired with an virtual eight-speed CVT rated to handle up to 325Nm of torque. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 6.9L/100km, and the vehicle carries a 55L fuel tank.
The Hybrid+ model meanwhile uses a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 100kW electric motor, powered by a 1.83kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery. The powertrain produces a combined 215PS (158kW) and 465Nm of torque, transmitted through a three-speed transmission for an 8.7 second sprint to 100km/h, plus a combined fuel consumption of 4.7L/100km. It also offers eight propulsion modes and can operate in electric-only mode at speeds of up to 80km/h; range is rated at up to 870km from its 41L fuel tank.
For the first 3,000 customers, both MG ZS variants come with an upgraded seven-year, unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty. The Hybrid+ battery is separately covered by an eight-year, 160,000km warranty. Test-drive units are now available at MG showrooms nationwide – the MG ZS Hybrid+ will also be on display and available for test drives at a roadshow in 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 29 October to 2 November 2026, between 10am and 10pm.
