ASUS today announced its new Vivobook S14 and S16 laptops: the lineup includes the 14-inch S3407 series and the 16-inch S3607 series, though they share the same name as the Vivobook S5406/S5407 (colloquially referred as ‘S5’ series). The S5 series features higher-end parts, while the new ones (S3) focus on budget – so pay extra attention when you’re buying one of these to make sure you’re picking the right one.
ASUS Vivobook S14/S16 (S3) Series

The new Vivobook S14/S16 series will be powered Intel Core i5-13420H processor, or in the case of the 14-inch model, an additional configuration with Intel Core Ultra 7 255H onboard. These laptops are all equipped with 16GB DDR5 RAM, though the Core Ultra model offers an unpopulated SODIMM slot for further expansion (both Core i5 models also feature one SODIMM slot, though they’re populated). 1TB SSD storage is standard among all models, and ASUS claims up to 20 hours of battery life – expect this figure to only apply to the Core Ultra model.

For display, there’s only one option for both sizes. The 16-inch gets a 16:10 144Hz FHD+ display, while the 14-inch both get a 60Hz FHD+ IPS panel, with both sizes featuring 300 nits of panel brightness and a sub-standard 45% NTSC color gamut. Connectivity options include dual USB Type-C (5Gbps) ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, USB-A (5Gbps) ports, HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack; wireless connectivity adopts the Wi-Fi 6 standard, so nothing too fancy.
The ASUS Vivobook S14/S16 (S3407VA/S3607VA, Core i5) will be available in Matte Gray and Cool Silver at a starting price of RM3,199, whereas the S3407CA variant in Cool Silver (Core Ultra 7) is priced at RM4,099 – both available starting May 19. ASUS says the Qualcomm Snapdragon X-powered models (S3407QA/S3607QA) are expected to arrive in July 2025. As a side note, the laptop maker will also bring its Fragrance Mouse MD101 here starting this June with the RRP of RM169.
