Acer’s gaming sub-brand Predator has introduced three new high-performance hardware for gamers and creators alike: the lineup includes the Predator Hera Gold Edition 192GB (4x48GB) DDR5 memory kit and two PCIe 5.0 SSDs, namely the Predator GM9000 and GM9. (Internally, these hardware are produced by Biwin, while Acer takes care of the branding.)

First up, the Predator Hera Gold Edition memory kit consists of four 48GB DDR5 DIMMs totaling 192GB running at 6000MT/s clock speed with CL28 latency. Keep in mind this is the speed you get with a 4-kit configuration, which is plenty fast – a typical 4-kit often gets a big drop in clock speed due to increased load from the CPU’s memory controller, and that’s why 2-kit is usually better if you’re gaming. That said, it is validated for compatibility with AMD X870, X870E, and B850 motherboards from major brands, and supports AMD EXPO overclocking profiles.

On the storage front, the Predator GM9000 PCIe 5.0 SSD delivers sequential read speeds of up to 14,000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,000 MB/s, with random read performance reaching 2,000K IOPS; its performance comes courtesy of a 6nm controller with eight NAND channels, dedicated DRAM cache, and dynamic SLC caching for sustained throughput and low-latency data access.

The second storage model introduced today is the Predator GM9 SSD, also a PCIe 5.0-based model. It offers sequential read speeds of up to 14,500 MB/s and write speeds of up to 11,000 MB/s; it also features dynamic SLC caching, but DRAM cache is replaced with Host Memory Buffer (HMB) to lower the cost of the drive (while still largely retaining the performance). For cooling, it features a copper-graphene composite heatsink and intelligent power management to maintain thermal stability under heavy workloads.

Pokdepinion: Very speedy stuffs from Acer here.
