Back in August, leaker chi11eddog claimed that AMD is working on a dual 3D V-Cache version of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, bumping up the total L3 cache size to 192MB in total. The same leaker has returned to the Internet and provided more information on this mysterious model: it’ll be called Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, with the number ‘2’ presumably indicating its dual-X3D design.

Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Is The New Flagship In Town

The detailed specs given here matches what was said two months ago: 16 cores, 32 threads, 200W TDP (30W more than 9950X3D), and 192MB combined L3 cache, split into two 3D V-Cache CCDs each with 8 cores, 16 threads, and 96MB of L3 cache. Clock speed figure is listed as 5.6GHz boost and 4.3GHz base, the former of which is actually 100MHz slower than the regular 9950X3D, despite its extra power headroom; base clock remained the same as the standard counterpart, however.

Also, Ryzen 7 9850X3D

Besides the 9950X3D2, the leaker also revealed a surprise: Ryzen 7 9850X3D. This 8-core model shares exact specs as the existing 9800X3D, with 120W TDP and 96MB L3 cache. However, one crucial difference between the two is that 9850X3D gets a healthy +400MHz clock speed boost up to 5.6GHz, which potentially makes it one of the fastest gaming processor available when it eventually launches.

Speaking of which, chi11edog didn’t reveal any information on when these models will be released, or that they will be released at all. This particular rumor is a rather contentious one given that no other leakers has corroborated with these claims so far, although there is no stopping AMD from spinning up new models as the N4X manufacturing process – which Zen 5 processors use – matures over time.

Pokdepinion: I can see the 9850X3D being the next hottest thing for gamers with loaded wallets.
