Tencent Esports Competition Solution (ECS) will provide end-to-end technical support across all 11 esports events at the 20th Asian Games, which runs from 22 September to 2 October 2026 at Hall D of the Aichi Sky Expo in Japan.

Described as the first solution of its kind designed for large-scale intercontinental esports competitions, ECS covers every stage of competition from pre-match equipment checks through to post-match record archiving. The 20th Asian Games marks the second time esports has featured as an official medal event, with 11 events across six game categories up for grabs.

Tencent Esports Competition Solution Covers Three Stages Of Competition

ECS is structured around three key operational stages: before each match, an Inspection Station handles checks of player peripherals, devices and the overall competition environment, while maintaining check-in records for officials. During competition, a Monitoring Console tracks more than 30 indicators in real time, such as device and network status, and consolidate multiple video feeds such as Player POV, Observer View and Hand Cam into a single interface for competition operations staff. After each match, a dedicated Review Room gives competition officials access to match records and footage for post-match review, information retention and video archiving.

Tencent Esports has previous experience at this scale. At the 19th Asian Games, its technical team supported 217 matches with zero technical incidents recorded. Building on that, ECS underwent three dedicated test events between January and June 2026 across venues in Japan, Singapore and Vietnam to validate the solution across different environments and network conditions. The team subsequently moved into the official Asian Games venue earlier in September 2026 to conduct integrated system testing before the competition began.

The deployment of ECS forms part of a broader 10-year strategic partnership between the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Tencent Esports, running from 2025 to 2035. OCA Director General Husain Al-Musallam described the evolution of Asian esports as moving from “event participation” towards a new phase focused on co-building technology and systems.

Al-Musallam stated that adopting Tencent Esports’ Competition Solution at the Asian Games represents a step towards establishing more standardised and institutionalised competition systems, with the ambition of setting an Asian benchmark for the sport.

Pokdepinion: Even a technical pause can ruin a team’s momentum, hence it is good that they’re minimized as much as possible.
