Razer has spawned another controller product, this time a compact, foldable kind called Razer Prio. This foldable USB-C gaming controller is designed for use with iPhone and Android smartphones, featuring a twist-to-unlock folding mechanism to make it compact enough to fit inside a pocket.
Razer Prio Controller Goes Mini
When folded, the Razer Prio measures 107 x 67 x 23mm and weighs 101g, and unfolded it can expand to fit phones up to 7 inches, which covers just about every smartphone out there (the nubia Neo 5 Max would be one of the very few exceptions). Despite its size, the controller includes a full layout comprising thumbsticks, a 4-way D-pad, face buttons, bumpers and triggers.
The analog thumbsticks use capacitive sensing, which Razer said is a first for its controllers – the contactless design reads input at high resolution without physical contacts, reducing the potential for drift over time. Razer Prio connects via USB-C with no pairing or separate battery required, and is designed to fit most slim to medium phone cases without removal. Razer also made sure the controller stays low-profile noise-wise, so face buttons use silent tactile switches.
The controller supports both iOS 18 and Android 14 or later for local play, as well as game streaming through Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link, PS Remote Play and Razer PC Remote Play via the Razer Cortex Mobile and PC apps. A dedicated Razer Cortex Mobile button opens the user’s game library directly from the controller.
The Razer Prio now available now at Razer.com and RazerStores, with local retailers soon the follow; it’ll be available at RM469 apiece.
Pokdepinion: I imagine the ergonomics is probably going to take a hit when you get it this small.
