Is This The New ROG Ally? ASUS Sneakily Reveals A Black-Colored Model

It’s been a year since the original ROG Ally was launched through an April Fool’s joke of all things, so that got everyone thinking if the Taiwanese company will be releasing a sequel soon. Sure enough, Videocardz has obtained an internal document that seems to indicate this will be the case. Adding to that, ASUS renaming the current model as “ROG Ally (2023)” also adds more fuel to the rumor.

While this recent post on X (Twitter) seems to be just a normal giveaway contest – users simply need to count how many Allys are shown in the image provided – the devil is in the details. Located on the second row of the white cabinet is a black-colored ROG Ally that the company has never released up until this point, which got everyone thinking if this may be the new ROG Ally that ASUS will be revealing this coming Computex in June.

While no details have been leaked thus far as internal hardware goes (it seems unlikely AMD will be announcing Ryzen Z2 given the lack of leaks so far), one can safely assume that there will be no major changes based on the image above. Still, we can expect minor enhancements, such as a fix on the overheated SD card slot issue – although the company seems unsure about solving this particular issue for good.
