It’s officially real: Lenovo has pulled its wraps off of the new Legion Go, its answer to Steam Deck and ROG Ally. The Legion Go packs the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor as the ROG counterpart, comes with 8.8-inch QHD+ 16:10 display with 500 nits and 97% DCI-P3 gamut, and runs at 144Hz refresh rate, and is touch-capable. The specs also include 16GB LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD with optional 1TB microSD expansion for a total of 2TB of storage.

Just as the rumors alleged, the Legion Go comes with detachable controllers (dubbed TrueStrike controllers) with Hall Effect sensors, and the main unit comes with a 49.2Wh battery and fast charging support. Lenovo claims the Quiet Mode lowers noise levels down to just 25dB. The controller itself comes with a dedicated “FPS Mode”, where users attached the right side controller to the base that comes with optical eye to track controller movements, augmenting mouse movements for precise aim controls.

The Legion Go is accompanied with accessories such as Lenovo Legion Glasses, sporting a micro-OLED display at FHD 60Hz and delivers audio through its onboard speakers; there’s also the Legion E510 7.1 RGB in-ear headphones with USB-C connector. Lenovo currently only announces November 2023 availability for EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) regions at the price 799 EUR for Legion Go, so other regions may need to wait for now.

The company is also launching the new flagship gaming laptop, the Legion 9i – which comes with world’s first integrated water-cooling system co-engineered with Cooler Master. This slim chassis (max 22.7mm Z-height, starting at 2.56kg) packs the top-of-the-line Intel Core i9-13980HX as well as NVIDIA RTX 4090 Laptop GPU (150W+25W Dynamic Boost), with combined TDP of 230 watts, which is cooled by the triple-fan with the self-contained watercooling system.

To reduce the weight incurred by water cooling systems, the laptop’s A-side (lid) cover is made from forged carbon composites, touted for its extreme lightweight and rigidity properties. The material is most commonly seen in race cars and supercars alike (think Lamborghini Huracan Performante), and Lenovo notes that due to its manufacturing process, no single Legion 9i looks the same on the lid.

The laptop also comes with the company’s new LA-2 AI coprocessor, 3.2K 16:10 Mini-LED 165Hz panel, 2TB SSD, RGB lightbar, per-key RGB, Tobii Horizon eye tracking, 99.99Wh battery, and Wi-Fi 7 + Bluetooth 5.3 courtesy of MediaTek’s latest Filogic 380 Wi-Fi card delivering up to 6.5Gbps throughput. It’s set to cost 4,499 EUR and releases in EMEA regions this October. (The company also announced its new GB400 and GB700 backpacks designed for 16-inch laptops.)
