The Predator Helios 18 AI gets a refresh for the occasion, now equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor as part of the chipmaker’s Arrow Lake Refresh lineup, alongside NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, up to 256GB memory and 6TB storage. Acer pairs the hardware with an 18-inch 4K 16:10 Mini LED display featuring DFR (dynamic frequency and resolution) with 4K 120Hz and FHD 240Hz modes. Cooling is handled by a pair of sixth-generation Predator AeroBlade 3D fans, while connectivity includes Thunderbolt 5, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7, and Killer Ethernet.

Acer also introduced an all-new model under its Nitro lineup, dubbed Nitro 16 – not to be confused with Nitro V 16. This is the first from the Taiwanese laptop maker to feature AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor, the sole Zen 5 laptop chip to feature 3D V-Cache; the laptop can be configured with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU and features a 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz display.

Expanding its handheld gaming portfolio further, Acer announced the Predator Atlas 8 featuring Intel’s new Arc G-Series processors. In this case, the handheld can be configured up to Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor (2P+8E+4LPE) with Intel Arc B390 graphics, driving the framerates on its 8-inch FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 120Hz touchscreen with up to 500 nits of panel brightness.

The Predator Atlas 8 also introduces Predator AeroBlade cooling to the handheld category, incorporating what Acer describes as the first metal cooling fan used in a gaming handheld; the cooling system works alongside a second fan and internal airflow channels to maintain performance during extended gaming sessions. Power is supplied by an 80Wh battery, while connectivity includes dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and UHS-II microSD support.

On the other end of the gaming handheld spectrum, the Acer Nitro Blaze Link relies on streaming to access games on another PC or on the cloud; the device features a 7-inch FHD+ touchscreen, weighs 464g, and includes dual 2W speakers. Acer positions the product as a companion device (a la PlayStation Portal) for systems such as the Predator Helios 18 AI and Nitro 16, enabling access to a user’s game library from different locations within the home.

Pokdepinion: Finally another laptop with Ryzen X3D processors.
