Malaysians might not be familiar with the historic home PC brand Packard Bell, which used to be among the mainstay brands in the western markets. The brand disappeared out of the consumer market in 2008, then Acer acquired it back in 2013, and 13 years since then, the brand is officially back from the dead with a brand-new identity that extends beyond just PCs.

Packard Bell Is Back With A New Identity

The Packard Bell reboot happens to coincide with its 100th anniversary, which started out on consumer radios, color televisions and, later, personal computers. Acer has given the brand a new brand identity called “Tech it easy,” bringing its first wave of lifestyle-oriented consumer products that aims for simplicity and affordability. The revive will remain in EMEA markets for now, based on the announcements made in IFA 2026.

The refreshed visual identity is built around the dot as a central design element. Packard Bell’s new emblem uses a constellation of dots that embed the letters “P” and “B,” framed as ‘cells’ rather than pixels to signal a human-centered approach to technology. The brand’s communication style aims to move away from technical language in favor of plain-spoken, lifestyle-oriented messaging.

The opening product lineup spans several everyday products: the DotBook is a 14.5-inch laptop positioned for browsing, streaming and general work (with signs indicating parts-sharing with Acer laptops); alongside it, the DotLoop is a suitcase-format vinyl turntable, the DotTune is a home speaker, and the DotLine is a 4G feature phone aimed at families and users for digital detox.

The DotLook is a pair of audio glasses handling music and calls, while the DotShine is a ring light for content creators. Rounding out the first wave are the DotCombo keyboard-and-mouse set and the DotBass color-matched headphones. Besides these, Packard Bell has also partnered with startup Steasy on a connected mini-steamer, targeting kitchen appliance markets; the Steasy product will be available in Europe from Q4 2026, with further collaboration planned through 2027.

Pokdepinion: I remembered this brand from watching vintage PC videos back then. Welcome back!
