There May Be A 4G-Only Samsung Galaxy S20 FE with Snapdragon 865 In The Works
As many of you may know by now, there are two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE; the 4G-only variant powered by the Exynos 990 and the 5G version powered by Snapdragon 865. Surprisingly, there may be another 4G-only variant, and it’s powered by the latter variant’s chipset.
4G-Only Samsung Galaxy S20 FE with Snapdragon 865 In The Works
The new 4G-only Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was first spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance database a few weeks back, but no one had any idea what makes this one different. Now, it’s no longer a mystery as this variant, going under the model number SM-G780G, will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC.
Apart from the chipset change, the specifications remain exactly the same, and it even includes the MST chip so you can use Samsung Pay with it for cashless transactions. It’s said that there will be a Galaxy S21 FE as it’s in the works, which makes it a bit odd for them to release this variant. However, the company is most likely simply looking to bolster the sales of their devices.
With that being said however, there’s no guarantee that this variant will be made available globally. After all, there’s a chance that it might exclusive to markets where the 5G variant isn’t made available in. For now, we will report more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: If you could go for this version instead of the Exynos 990, you will get better battery efficiency and slightly better camera performance from post-processing. If you already have the Exynos 990, do not fret as it’s still a great, especially from a value perspective.
