As anticipation builds for the launch of the iPhone 16 family in September, a new rumor from China has surfaced, detailing the exact battery capacities for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max Battery Capacities Revealed
According to the leak, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 3,577 mAh battery, which is over 9% larger than the iPhone 15 Pro’s 3,274 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Pro Max is expected to boast a 4,676 mAh battery, marking an increase of more than 5% compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 4,441 mAh cell.
While these increases may not seem substantial, they signify Apple’s commitment to enhancing battery life. When combined with potential improvements in chipset and display panel efficiency, these upgrades could lead to noticeably better longevity for the upcoming iPhone models.
Additionally, both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to support 40W wired charging and 20W MagSafe wireless charging. This would be a significant upgrade from the 27W wired and 15W MagSafe wireless charging capabilities of their predecessors, providing a much-needed quality-of-life improvement for future owners.
Pokdepinion: It may be a small bump but given how well Apple optimizes their tech, it could lead to substantial improvements. I’m quite excited to see it in action, and the regular Pro model definitely needs it.
