iPhone 16 Pro Max to Feature Higher-Density Battery and Improved Thermal Management, Reports Ming-Chi Kuo
Recent leaks have revealed size differences between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max, but now there’s exciting news about the battery improvements for the next-generation Pro Max iPhone. According to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a higher energy density battery, promising longer battery life without increasing the physical size.
iPhone 16 Pro Max to Feature Higher-Density Battery
Kuo reports that the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s enhanced battery will offer greater endurance while maintaining the same form factor as the 15 Pro Max. The higher energy density, however, will generate more heat. To address this, Apple is rumored to use a stainless steel case around the battery, enhancing thermal management and preventing overheating.
This innovation was hinted at earlier with the sighting of an alleged iPhone 16 Pro prototype battery encased in a similar bracket. The stainless steel casing will not only improve heat dissipation but also make battery replacements easier, potentially helping Apple comply with the European Union’s regulations for replaceable batteries in smartphones.
Kuo also mentions that Sunway will be the primary supplier of the stainless steel battery casings for the new iPhone 16 Pro Max. If initial production proves successful, Apple may extend this technology to its entire iPhone 17 lineup.
