Will Vapor Chamber Help the iPhone 17 Series?
Vapor chambers are sealed metal components containing a small amount of liquid, typically de-ionized water. When exposed to heat generated by the chipset, the liquid evaporates, and the vapor spreads across the chamber to dissipate heat more efficiently. This technology has been widely used by Android manufacturers for years to manage demanding chipsets and reduce thermal throttling.

The new report challenges earlier claims by renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggested that only the iPhone 17 Pro Max would receive the VC cooling system. If the latest rumors hold true, even the non-Pro iPhone 17 models will benefit from this advanced technology.
Additionally, the non-Pro variants are rumored to gain high-refresh-rate displays for the first time. While it’s unclear if these will be 90Hz or 120Hz panels, either option would be a welcome upgrade over the standard 60Hz displays currently found on non-Pro iPhones.
