Nokia and Zeiss Partnership Has Officially Ended
Nokia phones coming with Zeiss optics is like bread and peanut butter now, with it feeling quite common for the longest time. Moving forward, things will change as HMD Global announced that the partnership between the two companies has officially ended.
The decision to not continue with the partnership is said to be mutual, though no further reasons were shared from both companies. The last Nokia smartphone to feature Zeiss optics was the XR20, and we have since seen Zeiss optics being featured on the smartphone of other brands, such as the vivo X60.
Of course, we knew for a while that the partnership wasn’t an exclusive one, as they also have another famous partner for mobile imaging, and that is none other than Sony. One thing’s for sure, if we see more Nokia smartphones down the road, it will likely be different from what we’re used to seeing.
Pokdepinion: I somewhat saw this coming for a while now. Would be interesting to see if Zeiss ends up having more partners in the mobile imaging department soon.
