realme announced that it will launch the its latest entry-level smartphone, realme Note 70, on this Thursday (or 28 August to be exact). For starters, the device is revealed to feature a 6300mAh battery in a 7.94mm profile, which is claimed to be the largest and thinnest in its segment, respectively.

Another part of the Note 70’s feature set is what realme calls “ArmorShell protection and Military Grade Shock Resistance,” so expect some demonstrations to showcase its drop and scratch resistance for marketing. It also carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, along with a water-repelling “SonicWave Ejection technology” that uses specific audio frequencies to eject liquids from the device – a feature that we actually found during the testing of realme 14, which was under its experimental Labs section.
While the smartphone maker is mum about specs in its press release, we did found more numbers listed on its product and specs page, which basically revealed the phone in full. Key numbers include a 6.74-inch 90Hz display, 15W fast charging, and 1.8m drop resistance; performance is courtesy of a 12nm-based Unisoc T7250 chipset that logs 280K points in AnTuTu and is claimed to maintain 60FPS in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for “2 hours” (oddly specific, I’ll say). There’s also the “Pulse Light” that acts as an RGB lighting of sorts, too.
Frankly speaking, it’s hard to tell if the company intended to publish the product page despite slating its launch later in the week (and the press release certainly sounded like everything was kept under wraps), so it’s safe to say at this point the launch is all about formality and announcing the price, which we expect will be on the very low end given the product’s positioning.
Pokdepinion: It will be cheap – how cheap? We’ll know soon.
