Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 New Hinge Design Will Eliminate Display Crease
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is said to have a new hinge design that’s expected to eliminate an eyesore on foldables; the display crease.

A new report suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 may eliminate the crease on its main display by introducing a new waterdrop hinge mechanism. This mechanism will allow the panel to fold completely flat by forming a droplet shape inside the hinge body, preventing the crease between the two sides of the panel.
This approach is similar to those seen in the Moto Razr and OPPO Find N series. The current Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 models still use U-shaped hinges which create noticeable creases and do not close completely flat. Samsung is also expected to retain the IPX8 water resistance rating on the Z Fold5.
