Samsung has kicked off its Haus of Fold Roadshow this weekend over at Pavilion KL shopping mall, bringing hands-on experiences around its latest Galaxy Z Series following the devices’ local launch. The roadshow aims to showcase the capabilities of Samsung’s new foldable smartphones, with various experiential zones on-site for the public to try out.

Given that the Galaxy Z Fold8 in particular has a shorter height, various apps need to adapt their UI accordingly to avoid visual glitches or functionality issues. To that end, Samsung says brands that Malaysians are familiar with, such as AmBank, CelcomDigi, Gigi Coffee, GSC Cinemas, iQIYI, Maybank, Maxis and ZUS Coffee, have adapted their apps into the foldable’s new dimensions.
The Haus of Fold roadshow also connects the Galaxy Z Series with Malaysian entertainment and culture – actors Syafiq Kyle, Mimi Lana, Kamal Adli and Anas Ridzuan appeared at the event to preview the trailer for Takluk 2: Op Daulat! and discuss their experience filming with the Galaxy Z Series. Famed Malaysian singer Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza also made an appearance and shared her experience using the Galaxy Z Fold8.
Samsung said the Haus of Fold Roadshow is intended to demonstrate how the Galaxy Z Series can adapt to different activities, including getting work done while travelling, creating content, staying connected with family and friends, watching entertainment and capturing everyday moments. The event forms part of Samsung’s ongoing local campaign around its foldable device lineup, giving consumers an opportunity to experience the devices in-person.

Pokdepinion: With how stagnant smartphone development has become, I’m not sure if new devices draw the same kind of hype as it is before – but at least the new Z Fold8 has something new to go for, if not largely the same otherwise.
