A scratch or lens flare can totally ruin your shots. Well according to reports, they will become a thing of the past thanks to Corning.

Corning to introduce scratch and reflection-resistant camera

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review -

Corning, who is known for making glasses has recently unveiled their new Gorilla Glass DX and DX Plus glass composite covers for smartphone cameras. They both are thin layers of glass that’s combined with coatings to offer anti-reflection and they sit on top of camera lenses to make them more durable and of course, improve shots taken with your device.

The company has said that they aim to make lenses that use glass as durable as the ones that uses sapphire but also to make them better at avoiding issues such as lens flare and ghosting caused by reflection.

Materials matter.. especially when the number of cameras is going up, the size of the lenses is going up. You have to believe, going forward, people are really going to start paying attention to the quality of their photos and how to make them better and better.

John Bayne, head of Corning mobile consumer electronics division

We should expect to learn more soon as Samsung will be hosting their Galaxy Unpacked event on the 11th of August, which isn’t far away from now. Till then, stay tuned to Pokde.net for the latest tech and gaming news plus reviews.

Pokdepinion: What can I say, having a scratch on your lens would definitely bring a big impact on your shots. I’m glad to know that Corning isn’t just focusing on that though. Hopefully it’ll be impressive as it sounds.
