Xiaomi dropped from US investment blacklist

One of the last things the Trump administration did before leaving office was accusing Xiaomi of being a “Communist Chinese Military Company.” After months in courts, the US government has finally agreed to remove the fast-growing smartphone maker from the US blacklist.

The blacklist would have prohibited US investors from investing in Xiaomi, and would have seen it delisted from US exchanges, if the motion went through.

That would seriously impact Xiaomi’s finances, and thankfully the US Department of Defense has agreed to remove the Chinese tech giant from the investment blacklist.
