Further details about it are not yet known at this time. Unlike before, Xiaomi used the name MIUI, indicating it was more of an interface on top of the Android operating system. It is unclear whether HyperOS will be an entirely new operating system like HUAWEI’s HarmonyOS or if it will be a new interface name under Xiaomi.
Xiaomi is set to introduce Xiaomi 14 on October 27, and we will likely learn more about HyperOS then. Let’s look forward to more details about it.
Pokdepinion: I would like to think of it as being similar to MIUI as opposed to being a full-fledged OS. It’s way too risky to do this given that they would need to work with a ton of developers to ensure their apps are working fine on the new Xiaomi HyperOS. Sure, you can say that if HUAWEI could do it, so could Xiaomi but remember how much flak HarmonyOS got at the start, and it took a very long time to reach where they are now.
