When Xiaomi announced the Mi 11, a lot of us were expecting more of Xiaomi. With the likes of the Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Ultra, the Mi 11 was definitely a bit underwhelming in a number of areas. It was rumored that the Mi 11 Pro is reserved for the global launch, and here’s a leak to corroborate that information.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro to sport horizontal camera array

As usual, the leaked photos are somehow taken by a potato, and doesn’t reveal too much. It does allow you to discern the orientation of the camera hump though, which extends across the device horizontally. This is quite a refreshing layout as Xiaomi has been using a vertical row of cameras since they started offering more than one camera on the back of their flagships.

This supports the render above by Ben Geskin, which was based on leaks. The horizontal camera array builds upon the rather unique triple camera hump on the Xiaomi Mi 11, with a fourth camera in the Mi 11 Pro taking the place of the flash module on the Mi 11. The Mi 11 Pro is reportedly going to launch with Xiaomi’s first 50MP camera system. It is also supposed to pack a 120x periscope telephoto camera, marking Xiaomi’s second device with fancy zoom optics.

Under the hood, the Mi 11 Pro is expected to come with the Snapdragon 888, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Xiaomi is also expected to bring the 120W fast charging along with the 50W wireless fast charging that debuted on the Mi 10 Ultra to the Mi 11 Pro.

According to rumors, there will be not only a Mi 11 Pro, but also a Mi 11 Pro+ this year, so stay tuned for more info about Xiaomi’s flagship lineup!
