How to Fix the Sony TV Wi-Fi No Internet Access Issue?

Recently, I started reviewing the 65-inch Sony A8F OLED TV. The TV itself works great and using it for videos / gaming has been wonderful but it had one issue. It seems that it has some Wi-Fi issues. It connects to my Wi-Fi without issues but it says that it has no internet access, which is weird because other devices have it working just fine.

After a quick search, I discovered that this is a known issue among Android-powered Sony TVs. There were many generic solutions as well, including a firmware update, but it still appears to be the same for a number of users and some are already on the latest update.

Luckily, I stumbled upon a very simple solution that will get this fixed. It’s so easy that anyone who can use the remote control can fix it in just mere minutes, and it’s something I’ve personally tried with success. Without further ado, here’s a step-by-step guide on what to do:

How to Fix the Sony TV Wi-Fi No Internet Access Issue?
  1. Press the HOME button on your remote control.
  2. Head over to Settings on the top-right corner of your display.
  3. Go to System Settings and select Date and Time.
  4. In Date and Time, disable “Automatic Date and Time” and manually key in the correct date and time as per your time zone.
  5. Save and restart the system.

Afterwards, your Wi-Fi connection should now have internet access. If it doesn’t, try forgetting the network and key in the necessary details again after. The bug seems to be related having incorrect date and time, and no updates have been issued to fix the issue outright.

This method works for me on the Sony A8F 4K OLED TV. Be sure to stay tuned for our in-depth review of that same TV model.
