Sony Introduces A Trio Of BRAVIA XR Lineup With New Processor
Sony is set to launch three BRAVIA XR TV models in Malaysia soon – with three models each sporting different backlighting features. The new models, which feature the latest Cognitive Processor XR chip enables better backlight control to increase brightness while minimizing blooming commonly seen in FALD (full-array local dimming) displays. Another new feature is the XR Clear Image which reduces noise and motion blur.
Three models are included in the upcoming launch here. The BRAVIA X95L (85-inch) is powered by 4K 100Hz Mini-LED panel which is set to be priced at RM26,999; whereas the BRAVIA X90L series, which comes in four sizing options – 85″, 75″, 65″ and 55″, features a more conventional 4K 100Hz FALD panel with less detailed local dimming capabilities (Sony didn’t specify the amount of dimming zones available). Finally, there’s the BRAVIA A80L series with 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch options available that uses 4K 100Hz OLED panel. All models support gaming-centric features such as VRR (variable refresh rate), ALLM (auto low-latency mode) and more.
Sony Malaysia says these models will be on sale starting in June – and pricing will be announced at a later date. Sony has only publicized the pricing for the X95L model on their website, with the other two models so far do not contain any pricing information on their respective product page at this writing.
Pokdepinion: Wonder why the panels didn’t quite go 4K 120Hz though, given there are panels out there that can already do 4K 240Hz at this point.
