Google Health Coach has officially launched in Malaysia as part of the global rollout announced by the tech giant, bringing an AI-powered fitness, sleep, and health advisor to Fitbit and Pixel Watch users. Consider this the appropriate response to Apple’s more robust presence in personal health, like its Apple Watch’s hypertension notification feature launched earlier this year.
Google Health Coach Now Available Worldwide

The Google Health Coach adapts recommendations based on a user’s logged activity, wearable data, and real-world context such as local weather conditions. Interaction is conversational, allowing users to type natural language prompts (for example, “Make me a 20-minute Pilates session”) and receive a structured routine in response. Nutrition logging has been updated to support photo-based entries, where users photograph a meal and the app takes it from there, replacing the manual search process that most easily consider rather tedious.
Also, Fitbit app is soon transitioning into the unified Google Health app – said update rolls out automatically to existing Fitbit users, with all data set to be carried over. The transition from the Fitbit app to the Google Health app introduces a 4-tab dashboard that consolidates fitness, sleep, and nutrition data into a single view, and third-party platforms such as Peloton and MyFitnessPal can sync their data into the same dashboard. Users currently on Google Fit will be invited to migrate to Google Health later in 2026.

Here’s the privacy statement bit from the tech giant: Google says health and wellness data stored within the Google Health app will not be used to power Google Ads. Meanwhile, the Medical Records Upload feature, which syncs with health portals, remains limited to the United States and is not available to Malaysian users for the time being.
The Google Health Coach is part of the Google Health Premium subscription, so users already on Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra plans can access this feature at no additional cost. For others, the subscription is priced at US$9.99 per month (or ~RM41/mo).
Pokdepinion: An AI coach that checks the weather before suggesting a run is a practical touch, though whether users actually follow the advice is a separate matter entirely.
