Samsung has announced a set of new AI-powered health features coming to the Samsung Health for the upcoming Galaxy Watch, aimed at converting biometric data into personalized wellness guidance. The update introduces several new health monitoring tools alongside a redesigned interface for the Samsung Health app.
New Samsung Health Features

First up, the Vitals feature builds on top of Energy Score metric by analyzing bio-signals overnight – including heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature and blood oxygen – against a baseline value; users will only be notified when it detects “meaningful deviations.” Next, the new Heart Health Score combines data from Vascular Load alongside body composition to provide a single daily metric that is easily understandable to find out a user’s heart health.
Daily Cardio Load analyzes workout intensity and recovery data to provide daily training recommendations, such as whether a user should increase effort, maintain their current level, or reduce activity for the day to prevent burnout or injury. Fitness Index works in similar fashion, analyzing metrics like heart rate, VO₂ max (a measurement of aerobic
fitness) and daily steps to determine if exercise routines are effective.
The Samsung Health app is also receiving an interface refresh organized around five health pillars: sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness, and body composition. On top of that, updates has been applied to how data is presented, including Antioxidant Index and AGEs index, as well as the inclusion of the new Hearing Health feature.
Samsung says the feature will be available on an upcoming Galaxy Watch model first (we suspect it’ll be revealed in the next Unpacked event), and that it’ll require smartphones based on Android 10 or above, with Samsung Health app version 7.0 and above.
Pokdepinion: The features look promising on paper, but the key questions – which watch models, which markets, and when – remain unanswered for now.
