After rumours of the PlayStation team working on a PS5 Pro controller, the DualSense Edge has been officially unveiled. This will be better than the original DualSense controller and, in one way or another, provide the necessary edge over the Xbox brand of controllers, namely the Xbox Elite.
The DualSense Edge generally looks like the original but it comes with a number of extra features. For starters, you can adjust stick sensitivity, deadzones, remap buttons, and change the analog stick caps along with the back buttons. You can even have multiple game profiles stored inside the controller, much like how gaming mouse and keyboard works in this day and age.
There are also extra Fn buttons which will allow you to quickly change between profiles, adjust chat volume and game volume. The D-pad is not interchangeable, nor can you swap positions with the analog stick so if that’s the kind of controller you’re looking for, you might need to wait a while longer for a viable solution.
Unfortunately, the pricing and availability of the DualSense Edge controller isn’t available at the moment. We will report more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: As much as I am excited to give this a try, I personally don’t mind sticking to the original since it’s already so good and is adequately sized. This differs a lot on the PS4, where I feel that the DualShock 4 is a bit too small for my hands.
