Tom Henderson, an industry insider, has revealed that Sony has plans to launch new hardware before the anticipated PS5 Pro. Henderson also teased that he could share more information about the Pro in the coming days.

Insider Claims Sony is Planning a New Hardware Release before PS5 Pro

Tom Henderson has once again provided some insider information about the development roadmap of Sony’s PlayStation 5 console. According to Henderson, Sony has plans to release another piece of hardware before the much-rumored PS5 Pro, which he previously reported on. He also teased that he might reveal more juicy details about the PS5 Pro in the coming months, and that there is more hardware in development at Sony than what is currently known.

During a recent stream, Henderson stated, “I think I will be able to talk about PS5 Pro in the next couple of months, because that’s when a lot more people are going to be made aware of the console.” He also mentioned that he may share more information about the PS5 Pro in May or June. Furthermore, he revealed that Sony is planning to release another piece of hardware before the Pro, which he may disclose soon.

PS5 scalper

Henderson previously broke the news about a new PS5 hardware model back in September of last year. According to his report, a new PS5 with a detachable disk drive will be available sometime in September 2023. The detachable drive will be connected to the main body via an extra USB-C port on the rear, setting it apart from its predecessor. While the hardware features of this upcoming console are expected to remain the same as the existing PS5 models, Henderson added that the detachable drive will be integrated naturally into the console’s mainframe.

In his March report, Henderson stated that Sony plans to release a full-fledged PS5 Pro with a hardware revision by the end of 2024. He also revealed that Sony has no plans to release a PlayStation 6 until 2028. Furthermore, he corroborated Jeff Grubb’s recent report about Sony hosting a PlayStation Showcase in June and speculated that Marvel’s Spiderman 2 could be released around the same time as the new PS5 hardware.

In conclusion, while Sony’s plans for its PlayStation 5 console remain shrouded in mystery, Tom Henderson’s insider information provides some clues about what could be coming in the future. Fans eagerly await further updates from both Sony and Henderson in the months to come.

Pokdepinion: Having one with a detachable disk drive feels rather odd, but I suppose that’s one way of making use of the Digital Edition’s stocks. I would assume it would be the same as the Digital Edition, just with an extra USB-C port, and it shouldn’t be difficult to add either.
