Overwatch Season 4 is here – the new Reign of Talon update introduces a new Tank hero, D.Mon, plus an overhauled Battle Pass system, updates to three existing maps, and a range of in-game events. The season is themed around Busan, South Korea, with the Junkers and Talon serving as the primary antagonists in the seasonal narrative.
Overwatch Season 4 Update Highlights

Meet D.Mon, who goes by the “real-life” name of Yuna Lee: her kit includes a Plasma Saber for close-range combat, a Power Barrier for ally protection, Propulsors for self-repositioning, and a Fusion Repeater for mid-range pressure. Her Ultimate ability, Limit Break, is designed to push the entire team forward. D.Mon is the first new addition to the MEKA Squad hero lineup as a playable character.
Season 4 introduces structural changes to the Battle Pass. After completing an introductory track, players can choose which Legendary skin to pursue first rather than following a fixed progression order. Premium Battle Pass owners receive one Tier Hack per season to swap an eligible Legendary reward for a cosmetic from the seasonal Swap Pool. This season’s Swap Pool includes Raijin Ashe, Mob Boss Junker Queen, Cardboard Reinhardt, Sakura Lifeweaver, and Crustacean Wrecking Ball.
At midcycle, Unvaulted Passes will offer access to rewards from select previous Battle Passes. These passes remain permanently available once acquired. Unvaulted Passes do not include premium currency, Mythic Prisms, Prestige Titles, or Mythic Hero and Weapon Skins. The Premium Battle Pass includes Cyber Chic Moira, Cyber Champ Brigitte, Cyber Cowboy Cassidy, Cyber Mechanic D.Va, and Cyber Raptor Pharah as Legendary skins. The Ultimate Battle Pass adds Divine Demon D.Mon and Metalcore Junker Queen Legendary skins, 20 Battle Pass Tier Skips, and 2,000 Overwatch Coins.
Two Mythic cosmetics are available this season. The Koi of Duality Genji Hero Skin features four customisation levels covering hairstyles, colorways, and a luminous koi visual effect. The Eternal Crystal Sojourn Weapon Skin features a reactive crystalline railgun with elimination-triggered visual changes, flourish animations, and a kill effect across four levels.
Two limited shop collections are available from August 11-30. The Young Gods Collection features Izanami Kiriko, Sekhmet Jetpack Cat, Nezha Wuyang, Artemis Freja, and Shango Doomfist. The Fleece and Fangs Collection includes Fancy Fleece skins for Juno, Mei, and Hanzo, and Fancy Fangs skins for Reaper, Vendetta, and Mercy.
Map Updates, In-Game Events & Combat Feedback

Three maps receive updates in Season 4. Busan has been updated to reflect the Junker and Talon attacks, with visual changes including damaged streets, graffiti, and MEKA repair details. D.Mon’s room is now accessible within the map. Paraíso receives decorative additions and new routes around Points A and B to reduce choke points, along with interactive content exclusive to players using Lucio. Eichenwalde gains new traversal options and routes through the first chokepoint, including access via a new piano shop that provides high-ground advantage for attackers.
Season 4 also adds several In Combat Feedback features: a Team Status Indicator above the Kill Feed showing alive teammate and opponent counts, a Tank Protect stat tracking damage mitigation that prevents lethal hits, multi-kill icons for double eliminations and beyond, updated healing visual effects and health-bar feedback, and damage contribution data in the Activity Feed.
Three time-limited events are scheduled. The Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania event allows players to complete pilot passes, earn rewards, and vote for a favorite MEKA Squad member in a global popularity ranking; Team Drives runs as a three-day Competitive mode where matched teammates remain grouped after a win, with progression through Gladiator Ranks.
The World Cup Cheer Rally lets players earn Cheer points through in-game challenges or eligible Overwatch World Cup broadcasts and allocate them to one of three regional conferences (AMER, EMEA, or ASIA), unlocking Battle Pass XP, Loot Boxes, regional Hero skins, and titles.
Pokdepinion: The introduction of player-directed Battle Pass progression in Season 4 is a notable departure from the fixed tier structure that has defined the mode since its launch.
