According to Zuby_Tech on Twitter, the PS5 stock issue will be improved immensely. This is because AMD has started mass production for the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U, the latest chip using the 6nm TSMC FinFET process, and it’s expected to power the gaming console.
This came after evidence of a redesigned PS5 console surfaced for design certification purposes in Japan a few days back with a “CFI-1200” model number. In comparison, current models have the number “CFI-11XX”, which would vary quite a bit. In case you’re wondering, it’s not expected to bring any sort of performance improvements over existing models.
Previously, Sony mentioned in reports that they will be starting production of a redesigned PS5 console from Q2 2022 onwards, so it looks like they are moving things according to plan. Soon enough, it should be easier for everyone to get their hands on the console.
Pokdepinion: Here’s to me hoping the scalpers don’t find themselves with too much extra budget on hand to purchase an excessive amount just to make a quick buck. It can still happen, but let’s hope that isn’t the case.
