It took a while for PlayStation to unlock the SSD slot on the PS5 console but now, many gamers are looking for an M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD that would go well with it as expanded storage. Ideally, one would like to get one with a heatsink but if you’re getting / have gotten one without it, SilverStone has a solution for you.
The new SilverStone TP06 PS5 M.2 SSD heatsink cover is a replacement for the default PS5 M.2 expansion slot cover. It’s made of aluminum and has ridges instead of the regular flat design of the original, which is said to improve heat dissipation.
Getting a compatible SSD for extra storage on the PS5 was a little hard before but this one certainly makes the search a lot easier. While the console itself does come with a decent amount of storage space, that will easily run out as you start downloading games. If you’re going to expand it, just make sure to keep this in mind as well.
Pokdepinion: Not an accessory I expected but it’s certainly a welcome addition. Anything that can improve thermals would be good, especially if it’s inexpensive.
