AMD releases five Zen-based 12nm Chromebook processors
Chromebooks are going to get massively upgraded performance, with AMD bringing the Zen architecture to Chromebooks. As part of the new AMD Ryzen and Athlon 3000C series, the new Zen-based mobile processors for Chromebooks promise up to 212% better performance than the previous generation of AMD-based Chromebooks.
AMD claims that the AMD Ryzen and Athlon 3000C series offer up to 251% better graphics, 104% faster office productivity and 152% better photo editing performance than previous generation of AMD Chromebooks. On top of that, the new processors will also support new capabilities like WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 while also offering longer battery life to improve the overall user experience of the new AMD-powered Chromebooks.
