[E3 2021] Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
To finish off Ubisoft Forward at E3 2021 with a blast, the big surprise they had in store for gamers is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It’s clearly geared towards next gen gaming and it’s based on James Cameron’s Avatar.
From what we understand thus far, the game is built using their own Snowdrop game engine at Ubisoft’s internal studio, Massive. Apart from that, the game is a collaboration project between Ubisoft, James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Interactive.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Synopsis
In this new, standalone story, play as a Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it.
At the moment, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is expected to launch sometime in 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. No exact release date was announced at the time of this writing.
Pokdepinion: This looks like it’s going to set a precedent for major next gen AAA games. I just hope it doesn’t turn out to be a glitchy mess as that would instantly ruin the potential, similar to what happened with Cyberpunk 2077.
