‘Get It on Twitch’ Officially Launched; Twitch is Giving Away Awesome Gaming Goodies for 4 Weeks!

Get it on Twitch; where buying games also means supporting your favourite streamers.

Not too long ago, we reported about Twitch considering to add the ability for viewers to buy games directly on Twitch. We didn’t really know for sure when it’s coming but now, it’s officially here.

‘Get it on Twitch’ Officially Launched

There are a lot of people who watch Twitch streams purely for entertainment. There are also a number of people who watch Twitch streams to see whether certain games are worth picking up or not. Twitch has decided to focus on the latter by bringing the ability to buy games directly on Twitch via the Get it on Twitch program.

At this moment, there are only 50 games available for purchase directly via Get it on Twitch but it is expected that this number will grow pretty quickly. To sweeten the pot for streamers, any Twitch partnered streamer will receive 5% of the proceeds of purchases from their channel. 70% of the purchased proceeds will go straight to the developer.

As an added bonus, any purchases above USD $4.99 will yield you a Twitch crate, which contain badges, emotes, and accessories. Those who receive the Twitch crate from the Get in on Twitch program will be eligible to win awesome gaming prizes as Twitch is holding a giveaway from now until early May. The prizes include:

• Hyper X Cloud Gaming Headset, Logitech F710 Wireless Controller, Twitch T-shirt (Week 1)
• G.Skill RIPJAWS KM780 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, and a Twitch T-shirt (Week 2)
• Razer Mamba 5G Gaming Mouse, Razer Firefly Cloth Mousepad, and a Twitch T-shirt (Week 3)
• Logitech G533 Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset, Logitech PRO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, and a Twitch T-shirt (Week 4)
