Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Coming Soon Thanks To Leak
We will probably see Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset soon as it was leaked recently by TechCruch, who accidentally published an article on it but swiftly took it down afterwards.
Previously thought to be called Snapdragon 8155, it seems that it was just a code for the Snapdragon 855. It is said that the new SoC is the world’s first commercial mobile platform with support for multi-gigabit 5G.
The chipset is produced by utilizing the 7nm process and comes with a Neural Processing Unit, which is reported to provide three times better performance than the previous solutions.
Snapdragon 855 will come in three clusters, which consists of four power-saving cores that’s clocked at 1.78GHz, three high-end cores at 2.42Ghz, and lastly one performance core that’s clocked at 2.84GHz.
It will be paired with Adreno 640 graphics and features Snapdragon X50 5G modem that allows 5G connectivity.
Mobile gamers will be happy to hear that the chip comes with a new feature called Snapdragon Elite Gaming, though precise details on what it offers is yet to be unknown.
Other than that, it comes optimized for AR, or augmented reality, and it also packs a 3D sonic sensor, that enhances ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, similar to which we’ve reported on iPhone’s upcoming device.
Pokdepinion: I’m pumped up for this. I wonder when it will be officially launch. Another question would be, which smartphone will be the first device to pack this bad boy right here?
