Sony WF-1000XM5 Earbuds to Replace Predecessors with Smaller, More Compact Design
Sony is set to release a new and improved version of its WF-1000XM4 true wireless earbuds, which were launched in 2021. The FCC recently certified the new buds, and leaked images show that the WF-1000XM5 earbuds are more compact than their predecessors. This news will be a relief to many, as the size was one of the main issues with the M4s.
Inside the case, the WF-1000XM5 earbuds have moved to two pins instead of three for charging. The case is also rated for 5V 230mAh, which is more than the M4’s case. Hopefully, this translates into faster charging. Wireless charging is also available.
The LED has been moved from inside the case to the front. While it’s hard to determine the exact size of the case from the leaked images, it appears to be smaller than the M4’s case.
The Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds are made in China, just like the LinkBuds S. With certifications underway and leaks starting to pop up, it is expected that the WF-1000XM5 earbuds will become official soon. Sony typically launches high-end Bluetooth headphones and earbuds around every two years.
Pokdepinion: Can’t wait to see what they bring to the table but if it is more compact, one thing I’m not really expecting is a better battery life. Let’s see how it goes.
