Marshall has announced the Acton IV and Stanmore IV home speakers, which are set to be available in Malaysia starting 20 August 2026. While both models feature largely similar looks and similar hardware, there are some key differences to note.
Marshall Acton IV & Stanmore IV Speakers
Starting with the common upgrades: both now feature upgraded tweeters and waveguides for a wider soundstage, a redesigned bass port for improved airflow and bass output, and bottom cable routing to allow flush wall placement. There’s also the Dynamic Loudness feature that manages audio balance across volume levels, with improved limiters designed to reduce distortion at higher volumes.
New in the lineup is Bluetooth Auracast technology that enables audio sharing to unlimited number of Bluetooth-capable devices, such as earbuds and hearing aids; on the software side, a dedicated Marshall app supports EQ customization and placement compensation (which tunes the speaker accordingly if the speaker is placed against reflective surfaces, such as flat walls). Speaking of tuning, both speakers are tuned by Marshall’s in-house acoustic engineering team “to deliver a sound that has presence and demands attention.”
Specs-wise, the Acton IV is the smaller brother with a 60W 4-inch Class D woofer and a pair of 25W 0.75-inch Class D tweeters with waveguides, with a maximum volume of 95db SPL at 1m distance. It is physically smaller as well, and weighs 2.65kg. As for the Stanmore IV, it’s larger footprint comes courtesy of a bigger 5-inch woofer, but are otherwise the same as the Acton in terms of amplifier and tweeter setups; as a result, it can deliver 97dB SPL at 1m, while also capable of producing slightly deeper bass as well. The entire unit is heavier, at 4kg apiece.
Both speakers retain Marshall’s established design language, including PU leather wrapping, a salt-and-pepper fret, and amp-inspired controls, while the brass control panel has been updated with a revised media jog and a new customizable M-button for quick access to music or personalized settings. You’ll also find RCA and 3.5mm inputs for connection to external playback sources, such as turntables. The speaker cabinets are constructed from FSC 100%-certified MDF (medium-density fiberboard) wood, and parts including knobs, feet, and the grille are all replaceable.
The Acton IV is priced at RM1,699 and the Stanmore IV at RM2,399, available in Black and Cream color options. Both go on sale from 20 August 2026 via the Marshall Official Store on Shopee and at selected retail partners including Harvey Norman, Thunder Match, CG Computers, Switch, and Urban Republic. Lazada availability follows from 4 September 2026, with remaining authorized retailers rolling out from 1 October 2026.
Pokdepinion: The fourth generation keeps the design largely intact, which isn’t a surprise given that the Acton and Stanmore’s aesthetic has been a consistent part of their appeal since 2012.
